There are four barriers between you and the life you want. They are not treated in the same way, and working on the wrong one is the first cause of failure. Twelve statements, three minutes. Answer quickly: spontaneous answers are the most accurate.

Your circle · I
The geographic barrier
“I never cross paths with them.”
What is happening
Your daily life is a sociological filter of formidable efficiency. Your building, your office, your gym and your friends have all been selected by the same mechanisms — price, degree, distance. You meet only people from your own stratum, and that is not chance: it is mechanical.
The good news
This is the simplest barrier to treat, and it is the most common. It is not a problem of worth, it is a problem of coordinates.
Where to begin
Run the audit: list every place where you spend more than thirty minutes a week, and count how many people matching your target you cross paths with there. The figure will be between zero and two. Then set up three anchors: one sporting, one associative, one everyday. Not six. Three. And hold them for six weeks before judging.
Your circle · II
The access barrier
“I know where they are, and the door is closed.”
What is happening
You have already solved the mapping problem. Your difficulty is real and different: in these circles, you do not enter, you are introduced. The currency is not money, it is the recommendation.
The good news
There are three ways in that require neither a fortune nor a family name: bridge professions, philanthropy and sport. Philanthropy is the most powerful — it is the one fast lift where the currency of exchange is work.
Where to begin
Join a museum friends’ society in your region this week: the annual fee is modest, no sponsor is required, and the sociological composition is that of a private circle. Then, within the month, offer your help with a named skill. The shift usually happens between month nine and month twelve.
Your circle · III
The legitimacy barrier
“I got in, and I am treated as a visitor.”
What is happening
You are in the right place, and something marks you as an outsider. It is almost never what you think: it is neither your bank account nor your degree. It is micro-behaviors — commenting on a price, gushing, justifying yourself, seeking approval, being overdressed.
The good news
There are twelve of these behaviors, all of them correctable in a few weeks, and the largest gain comes from removing rather than adding — which costs nothing.
Where to begin
Three immediate corrections: never mention a price again, never justify yourself again (“Sorry I am late.” — full stop, no explanation), and stop ending your statements on a rising intonation. Those three alone already change the way you are classified.
Your circle · IV
The relational barrier
“They like me, and then it stops.”
What is happening
You have crossed the first three barriers — already far more than most. Your difficulty is the most subtle one: a man from this world places a woman in a category within the first three hours, and he almost never changes that category afterwards. You are in the “entertainment” or “confidante” category.
What puts you there
What puts you there: being too available, being impressed, having only light conversations, accepting every change of plan, existing in one context only, having no boundaries.
Where to begin
The three-week test. After three weeks of a relationship, five questions: has he suggested something during the day? has he introduced you to anyone? has he told you about a real difficulty? has he asked questions about your life? has he mentioned anything beyond three weeks? This test will save you eight months.
And then
The four circles are covered in full in The Fortuna Method: the Atlas (module 2) for geography, Access (module 3), Personal Capital and the Codes (modules 1 and 4) for legitimacy, Conversation and the Relationship (modules 5 and 6). The founding edition is available now: five places, €690 or 3 × €240, 14-day guarantee.
No result is guaranteed. This test is a diagnostic tool, not an assessment of your worth.
